Nottingham legal firm Robert Barber has appointed family law specialist Carol Pottre (formerly Linfield) to its expanding Hucknall office.

Carol (52), from Sutton in Ashfield, rejoins the company as a Family Law Executive following a three year break working in Southampton. Carol initially joined Robert Barber in 1997 to work on the company's family law clients but relocated to Southampton in 2001 to work in the same field and also set up a travel company.

Now working on a portfolio of more than 150 clients, Carol is aiming to increase the company's family law private client base and continue to build upon Robert Barber's reputation as a local specialist.

She commented: "I have been working in family law for nearly 20 years and during that time I've gained a thorough understanding through many difficult cases.

"Also, having a family myself has given me an insight into who else could be affected by such things as divorce, domestic violence or child access issues. It's not only the person who comes to me that is affected; I have to make them aware of the whole picture and advise them on how to efficiently deal with it."

Robert Barber has three Nottinghamshire practices in Hucknall, West Bridgford and Eastwood. The practice's four partners specialise in a range of legal services including family law, personal injury claims, civil litigation, probate and wills, employment law, conveyancing, personal administration and leases and business transfers.
